CRONE ROPE - 2023 Coney Island Ritual Cabaret Festival New York, NY An experiment in the fixed and the fluid, the body on stage binds and unbinds itself in a series of archytypal forms seeking liberation. The body shapes itself in time with a spoken fairy tale, forming both the youth and the witch in their classic confrontation and trying to keep up with the rhythm of the words while both managing the knots and looking to escape them. A self contained 10 minute performance in a proscenium stage setting.
EAT ME (undocumented)- 2022 Julia Louis Dreyfest Billings MT A Clown performance for Roe. Youthful femininity discovers pure rage. A princess invites you to a picnic and is overjoyed to find her basket full of sweets to share. After encouraging you to partake she gorges herself but soon realizes the treats are making her sick. Her body seizes and convulses until finally it finds release through sound, the prying open of the throat chakra, the primal scream. The joy of release overtakes and she awakens and witnesses herself with pride. A self-contained, 10 minute performance.
DANCE/DECAY with ANSKAR THORLAC- 2021 The UM Living Art Festival Missoula MT This piece was designed to be stumbled upon and returned to throughout the duration of a busking-style socially-distant festival.
